Makerere University pawn to victory at FEAUS Women Games 2022

Makerere University won gold in the 2022 Federation of East African University Sports (FEAUS) Women’s Games hosted by Busitema University.
The team of five for the champions included Patience Nassimbwa, Allen Nabacwa Kyolaba, Margret Musoke Nassiwa, Glory Mukisa Bbumba and Patience Namaganda.
Busitema hosts came second in this board game.
Makerere also won other gold medals in woodball, rugby and table tennis.

Kyambogo University spilled the rest in Scrabble, another indoor game like chess.
United States International University of Kenya (USIU) – Africa has won gold in basketball and swimming.
The swim took place at the Rock Classic Hotel in Tororo.
The hosts Busitema defended the athletics which took place at King George IV Memorial Stadium in Tororo.
The first edition of the East African Women’s University Sports (FEAUS) Games was officially opened by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (Regional Cooperation) Hon. John Mulimba who represented the First Lady who also serves as Minister of Education and Sports.
Prior to the games, there was a gender roundtable forum with rich discussions on how to break down gender bias and inequality at sporting events.
The games will officially culminate on Easter Sunday, 17and April 2022 with Football, Netball and Handball.
